General mail guidelines:
- Letters take about
one weekthree weeks to arrive in Brazil from the United States - The postage is currently $0.98 per ounce (A10 envelope with two sheets of paper)
- Do not mail packages to the MTC
- Send all packages directly to the Brazil Recife Mission Home
- Do not send anything by FEDEX, DHL, UPS, etc. [He] will have to pay, sometimes hundreds of dollars, to get them out of the customs office
- The best way to mail packages to [him] is to use a PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL envelope obtained at any Post Office. The flat rate envelope is about $12 for up to 4 lbs. Packages arrive in Brazil fairly quickly and safely in about 3 - 4 weeks
- Priority boxes also work, but are very expensive
- If you need to get something to him in a week, send it in an EXPRESS MAIL INTERNATIONAL envelope. The cost is around $26
