So life is pretty much getting better here. The entire leadership of the ward is changing and the new people want to work, so I see progress on the horizon. We managed to teach some new people last week and we have some more people lined up for this week! I'm not having problems with allergies and hay fever any more so life is looking up! I have realized that I've lived here for more time than without and I'm really liking that. I hope that I stay with Elder Huish next transfer.
Well, I have to go. Sorry for the short e-mail.
Love you,

So...I really like having an American companion. It's pretty cool understanding all of the jokes he makes and the cultural references to music, movies, and life in general. it's pretty cool. I hope I get to "kill" him (Mission slang for 'be the last companion of') because then I could stay here, but It's not too likely. I'll probably get transferred in the next three weeks to another place. Here in Jenipapo it's a little slow, so I don't really have much news. I have made a new goal for study (since I managed to read the standard works in Portuguese in a year). Now I have to mark every book of scripture (for The Book of Mormon I have a goal to mark a scripture on every page!) before Christmas...we'll see...I have had this really complicated scheme of coloring the topics since I got here, but I didn't start using it until March this year. Now I've already done half of the Old Testament and half of the Book of Mormon with random scattered markings. Well, I have to go, because of the time here, but remember that I love you all!

Well hello there folks!
My companion got transferred today in the mini-transfer. We got a call at 11:20: "Umm...did we forget to call you and tell you that Elder Xavier got transferred?" Uhhh...YES! He packed his bag at top speed and we got to the transfer's chapel...and waited and waited and waited for our comps to show up (they had given up on us). So now my companion is Elder Huish (an American!). I'm still a district leader but my load got upgraded to two other areas to take care of...yikes! Now, for the first time, I am co-senior (where both companions are seniors) because Elder Huish is going to go home in 10 weeks. It's weird because I remember when he was a fairly new-ish missionary and I passed in an area after he did...I'm getting old in mission time...
Love you!
